Senior Come Join HII! Where Hard Stuff is Done Right!The HII Unmanned Systems (UxS) Manufacturing Engineering Team serves as the liaison between design and manufacturing, responsible for establishing and maintaining processes to manufacture HII-UxS products with predictable and reliable results.
We drive product and process improvements that positively impact manufacturing cost, quality, lead time, and safety.
Working in a cross-functional team this Manufacturing Engineer role will consist of but not limited to leading and supporting our Andon group with troubleshooting, redesign, and process improvement related activities on system and sub-system assemblies, supporting our military and commercial oceanographic products.
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing best practices; Lean principles, Six Sigma, 8D, DFMA, work cell design and factory floor layout, and adherence to ISO quality requirements and standards.
Strong applied troubleshooting skills and knowledge of continuous improvement tools, with proven track record measured by manufacturing or quality based metrics.
Experience automating and optimizing test infrastructure and processes.
Experience with SolidWorks and/or SolidWorks Composer.
Familiarity with LabView, MATLAB, and/or Python Proficiency in the creation of build documentation packages, development and implementation of procedures to manufacture, assemble, and test production product under tight regulatory controls.
Ability to manage time and priorities to meet multiple, sometimes conflicting, deadlines.
Proficiency in MSOffice tools.
Experience integrating hardware and software components of complex systems.
Experience working with commercial electronic test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.
) Experience with PLM, ERP, and MES systems.

What you will be doingDesigns manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
What we are looking for 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in realted field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
